Literature Text

Today I walk
I walk to the grave
the one I never thought I'd see.
My mind is empty my body numb
but I move forward.
I hear nothing, my eyes fixed on my path.
So sad
it came to this.
I shouldn't be the one walking here.
it shouldn't of been her.
No parent should ever have to face
their kid in a grave.
No parent should go through that pain.
Yet I do.
Today I walk
I place my flowers on her grave
swallow my pride and let
the tears flow.
a whisper in the wind
'do not cry'
I look up and then back
at the grave knowing
she is watching.
knowing my daughter is in a good place
Today I walk
and soon I'll walk
next to her.
Kinda really sad....
inspired by Victor Hugo's poem
Demain des l'aube

it's about him walking to his daughter's grave.

hope you like it.
